So, can we meet in person before I book you?
Of course we can! I want to become friends with all my brides and grooms and meeting to go over all the little details of your wedding helps this happen. We can meet up for coffee or a drink and get to know each other, face to face. Being the romantic I am, I would adore to hear all about your love story. If you live out of town, we can skype.
Where are you located?
I’m located in beautiful, chilly, foggy Nor Cal.
Are you available for travel?
Ummmm yes!
While the whole unpacking after the trip is one of my least favorite things on earth, traveling the globe, shooting fabulous people and documenting their love and their culture is one of my favorite things in the world. Totally trumps the unpacking. ;)
How would you describe your style?
Head over heals, can’t live without each other in love. Soft and romantic. Can’t take your eyes off each other. Tall bluffs of yellow grass. Rustic woodlands. He’s your true north. In the moment. Remembering this very moment, right now. Timeless. You can picture your lives together, 50 years from now. Simple. Take your breath away beauty.
Can you pencil me in or hold the date?
No, unfortunately not. I take a limited number of weddings a year and book the dates on a first come first serve bases.
How far in advance do you book?
Right now I’m only booking 12 months in advance for weddings and two months in advance for just because shoots.
What is required to book you?
A contract needs to be signed and a deposit of 25% is required to lock you in.
When is the rest of the money due?
The final payment is due one month before your wedding date.
What form of payment do you take?
Cash and check. I’m working on credit card payments. ;)
Do you provide high resolution files?
Yes of course I do! I still hold the rights to them but you may print off as many copies as you can handle! If you want to wallpaper your faces on your wall, I say more power to you.
Do you shoot black and white or color or both?
I shoot in color but edit in a mixture of black and white. Any image that is black and white when received by the client, stays black and white. Trust me, I know best.
Do you edit the photos you give me?
Yes! Each and every photo you will receive has been edited.
What is the difference between color corrected images and artistically edited?
See this post for more info.
How many photos do you take?
This really depends on the event. If your having a small, two hour wedding in Mexico with your 20 best friends I won’t shoot nearly as much as if you have a ten hour 400+ person wedding extravaganza. But I typically give around 50 pictures for each hour I shoot.
How soon after my wedding will I receive my disk of images?
6-12 weeks, however my goal is to have your photos to you by your one month anniversary.
Will you blog my wedding photos?
I post on my blog based on how busy I am that month. If me blogging your wedding is going to put me off editing and sending out your photos, then your event will not be getting blogged. My number one priority is getting your photos to you in a timely manner.
Do you have a backup plan?
Yes! I have a close circle of photographers I love who I can call in a moments notice if something was to prevent me from getting to your wedding. They are all photographers I would trust with photographing my wedding. Good news, I’ve never missed a wedding or event. :)
Do you have back up gear?
I have back up gear and back up gear for my back up gear! :) I got you and me covered!
Digital or film?
I shoot digital with a bit of expired 120 mm film and Polaroids thrown in.
What if I want you to shoot more film and Polaroids then normal?
I can do that, and in fact, I’d love to do that! If your wanting your wedding to be covered in both Digital and instant film/expired film, I can have a special second shooter come along just to shoot that format. Contact me for special pricing. :)
